Why would you update via import, rather than just using mass updates?
- Updating Lookup fields
- Updating a bunch of different fields at one time with different values (e.g., Addresses)
- Updating huge swaths of records (>100 or 200)
- If there are certain criteria for those updates that Excel formulas can accomplish better
