No, a pivot table does not look too different from tables you learned about in the 3rd grade. They really aren’t too complicated.
But, combine them with filters, multiple layers of categories or groups, various ways to summarize and count the data, and the fact that they auto-update daily—they suddenly become very helpful.
What if I want to see total sales, average performance, and deal count, all grouped by Account Type and by Salesperson?
