In the context of Zoho, know that there is tons of programming that goes into the “backend” of every Zoho application.

In order to facilitate additional customization of those applications (your ability to set up custom automations via deluge) Zoho created accessible APIs that allow you to perform certain actions. These actions (and how to access and execute them) are the “APIs”.
