- Tags gunk up CRMs — you add them in the moment, forget about them, and then a year later you have 70 different tags and you forgot why you were using them.
- You also can’t trigger workflow rules based off tag update (although they can be a condition for the workflow rule).
- They’re also weird to update via API (you can’t do them using a default zoho.crm.updateRecord), you have to use the Record Tagging API.
- If you use them correctly, they can work toward building decent Analytics reports.
You’re fine to use them — just be careful!
